My grandma, Isabel, was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her family was used to life in the big city, but both parents were teachers, so they longed to escape the city life in the summer time. Thanks to a teacher friend of my great grandfathers, they discovered Stoney Lake. This lake was one of several connecting lakes where small cottages lined the rocky shore. My grandma's family rented cottages there for several summers until her father, Duncan McColl, found some property there that was for sale. He bought this piece of lake front property for $125.00. My grandma was 7 years old when her father decided that he would build a cottage himself. My great grandpa, Duncan, cut down the trees on the property and used those logs to build what our family knows as "the cottage." He made a wood burning fireplace that is about 20 ft tall out of stone from the lake. He worked so incredibly hard, using NO POWER TOOLS! That is something a person of our time can barely fathom! It took him all summer, but it was worth it for his family. I'm glad that he did! With that being said, I have hopefully showcased to you the importance of this place and helped you understand the special place that it hold in my family's heart. I have gone to the cottage every single summer of my life but two. Shortly after I was born, my Canadian neighbors also welcomed their first little girl, Lonique. She and I grew up there together. We tubed, ate ice cream, had bonfires on the island and played the game of Scattergories! We did everything cottage life had to offer. We were always super excited to see each other every year because there was no Facebook to keep in touch with. Since Facebook, I've been able to keep up with Lonique, her family, and all my other beloved northerners! Last winter, my jaw hit the floor when I saw the photo of the rock that Lonique had posted on Facebook to announce that she and her sweet man, Scott, were engaged to be married! How exciting! When Lonique found out that Blake and I were coming to the cottage this summer, she asked me if I was willing to shoot their engagement photos. Are you kidding me? Of course I was thrilled! Lauren Rinaudo, International Photographer...SIGN ME UP! I couldn't wait to take my long-time friends pictures. Lonique and Scott met through mutual friends and had their first date in Rosetta McClain Gardens in 2008. For Valentine's Day, they got a little dog named Franklin, and they love taking him to the dog parks. In 2013, same park, same place, Scott decided to take Lonique and ask for her hand for the rest of his life. He really did good and is a genuinely great guy to my sweet Canadian sister. They bought their first home in St. Catherine's, but both love cottage life and wanted to do their pictures there. Of course, I couldn't resist either. The rollling hills in the area, the numerous amount of wildflowers are a photographer's sweetest dream. We decided to shoot in a field right off Birch View Road , which is at the top of the hill that our property sits on. We got some great shots even though a swarm of bees chased us down the road! Lonique and Scott weren't against any of my ideas. They even got in the freezing cold lake. My favorite picture was of them, noses touching, whispering and giggling back and forth with each other. It was the most natural connection that I've had in front of my camera to this day. Scott and Lonique, I've seen you together for many years now, and I am happy that ya'll are taking a step to become a family. I can't wait to watch you grow as a couple and see you two together for the many years of happiness that is to come! Thank you so much for allowing me to be your "international photographer!" Love your guys!

Miss Caddo USA!
Well! Y'all meet Miss Shelby! She emailed me about a month ago saying she would need head shots for an upcoming pageant she was competing in! Miss Louisiana USA! How super exciting is that? She stated that she was doing these pageants for scholarships for school so she asked me to sponsor her in the pageant. I loved the idea! We trucked down to one of my favorite locations and got some great shots. What a natural in front of my camera, she was. With her dark brown luxurious locks and tan skin, I'm almost positive she had never met a camera that didn't love her! When it was all said and done Shelby stopped by my temporary home (in an extended stay hotel due to our house fire) where she met me in the lobby! She came in with the biggest grin ever. She couldn't wait to get her hands on these images. She came with a gift, and I never forget when a client does this because it means so much more than they could ever know. She brought me a gift card to get a pedicure! As she handed it to me she said she knew I had been having a tough time lately to get some time for myself and relax. She will never know how much that meant! More than any amount of a session fee or picture package. These are the kind clients I always remember, and tell my family about. Shelby, thank you so much for that. It means the world. I wish you the most luck you have ever been wished +10! You're beautiful on the inside, and out! I really enjoyed getting to know you! :) These photos are the final three we narrowed it down to for her face off for "Most Photogenic." I can't wait to see which one she picks with "Lauren Rinaudo Photography" listed below as a proud sponsor!!!

ECA! ALL THE WAY!!
Mac is my boyfriend's sweet little brother. I was so excited when I got to witness his first varsity touch down last Friday night under the big field lights! The evening was warm and the bleachers were packed!! I was so excited for him. I yelled "GO GO GO" as he rushed into the end zone! Fans went wild and I was one of them. I remember last year going to the ECA games to watch Mac with his family, I sat quietly and smiled when he did something exciting. This year I feel perfectly comfortable yelling over everyone like a crazy football fan just for my buddy Mac! His mom asked me to do a mini session for the football program so we went down the street to the stadium where Mac took these sharp looking shots! :) I can't wait to watch him all season long! Go Eagles! #13!!!!

Tickled PiNK!
Tickled PINK is just what Tony and Brook were when they found out they were expecting a baby girl! Brook attended ULL and was sure to see to it that the new addition would be styled in her Ragin' Cajun school spirit with the tiny shoes showcased in their palms! This was such a sweet couple and I know they are going to be such loving parents. Tony was a southern gentlemen who had no problem taking off his cowboy hat when Brook asked for some photos! ;) Thanks Brook and Tony for choosing to work with me. I can't wait to meet Abigail Grace..

Nothings SWEETER than summertime..
Well, it's been a while since my last blog. Photography season tends to slow down just a tad in the Louisiana summer! Understandably, it's HOT!! But these three kiddos and I braved the heat! I'm glad we did because this session really highlights their love for one another. The two big sisters, Gabby, the oldest, then Lola, were super patient and so sweet to their baby brother Nolan! They knew just how to get him to giggle and were my little helpers doing just that. This family is full of naturally beautiful children, so it made my job pretty simple. I loved getting to play with them and begin a tickle fest as they were all laying on the blanket together. This family to me in one word: SWEET; like summertime! & I can't wait to see them again.. :)

Sweet Peach braved the heat :)
Ever since I can remember my sweet older cousin, who happens to be one of my very best friends has had the nickname PEACH! I adore it! I think it fits her perfectly, for whatever reason. I was MORE than thrilled for Gentry when I met her one evening, she was with her now fiance. (omg) ;) As she ran around from the other side of his truck she said "guess what, guess what!!"..."WHAT" I said. She stopped, and held up her hand and flashed to me her brand new engagement ring. All I could do was bust out crying while giggling of happiness! We have never hugged so tight. I could literally feel the joy oozing out of my sweet peach! Not much later, I got a piece of mail. I was asked to be a bridesmaid!! Then she asked me to shoot her bridals, and engagements. Could she make me any happier? I think not! So it was her idea to go out to her dads semi swampy backyard on Cross lake for her engagement session. The day was HOT, to say the least. So proud of her man Casey, he didn't say a peep and was a great sport.. Peach on the other hand, WAS MELTING! :) Luckily we all made it through the day and got some great images while we were at it! Check them out..
Gentry & Casey,
I am so happy you two have found one another. After being together over the years I have seen you both learn to work hand in hand. I feel like y'all compliment each other well. You know what works. I love you both dearly and CAN NOT WAIT to be a part of a day you will never forgot.
