Sweet Peach braved the heat :)

Ever since I can remember my sweet older cousin, who happens to be one of my very best friends has had the nickname PEACH! I adore it! I think it fits her perfectly, for whatever reason. I was MORE than thrilled for Gentry when I met her one evening, she was with her now fiance. (omg) ;) As she ran around from the other side of his truck she said "guess what, guess what!!"..."WHAT" I said. She stopped, and held up her hand and flashed to me her brand new engagement ring. All I could do was bust out crying while giggling of happiness! We have never hugged so tight. I could literally feel the joy oozing out of my sweet peach! Not much later, I got a piece of mail. I was asked to be a bridesmaid!! Then she asked me to shoot her bridals, and engagements. Could she make me any happier? I think not! So it was her idea to go out to her dads semi swampy backyard on Cross lake for her engagement session. The day was HOT, to say the least. So proud of her man Casey, he didn't say a peep and was a great sport.. Peach on the other hand, WAS MELTING! :) Luckily we all made it through the day and got some great images while we were at it! Check them out..

Gentry & Casey,
I am so happy you two have found one another. After being together over the years I have seen you both learn to work hand in hand. I feel like y'all compliment each other well. You know what works. I love you both dearly and CAN NOT WAIT to be a part of a day you will never forgot.

Pretty Southern belle

One thing I love about how I grew up is being from the SOUTH! We have so many cool traditions that people up North may think are crazy but I just LOVE IT HERE! I love a warm sunny day. I love swimming and tan lines. I love crawfish season. I love our southern drawl, hospitality, and down home cooking. I love being a part of the Bible belt. I love bare feet, and waving to a perfect stranger when passing them on a day at the lake. The list goes on! When I took my 3 Nails Photography workshop the idea of having a hair and makeup artist to work with was suggested. First person who came to mind was a good friend, Candice Carpenter. She graduated from Regency, and had done my hair and makeup for a wedding so flawlessly. We chatted and decided to team up for my bridal packages, providing full hair and makeup for engagement and bridal sessions. Now, it was time to show off what we would work hard to make successful. I got in touch with a couple models. First one we booked was a gorgeous girl, I have been friends with for a while, Ashleigh McTire. She was excited too, which made it even better. We set up a beautiful location during the golden hour on what turned out to be a perfect warm summer evening with a gentle wind, blowing in the perfect direction. *happy photographer* We had Ashleigh first model a wedding dress, to promote our new work. Next we had her prance around barefoot, in a precious white baby doll dress, which showcased her personality to a tee! The true definition of a Southern belle, this girl was. Tan skin, beautiful hair, and the sweetest most down to earth personality. I must say, there is not a single way I could be happier with the way these photos turned out. Thank you so much Candice, and Ashleigh for your time and for both doing an impeccable job. Here are some of my favorites from the shoot. I would love some feedback! :)

Lemonade .25 cents!!

Those who follow me know that I have two super fun mini sessions for the kiddos every spring! The "Candy Shoppe" and the "Lemonade Stand." This year they were both a huge success. I even had two of my clients do BOTH this year! How exciting! The Lemonade mini  is a very laid back mini where I want to see the southern side of my cutie clients! I let them run bare feet and sip on a mason jar of fresh lemonade. I try to catch them in their very own element! I love this session. It is hands down my favorite mini and sometimes I want to hop in there next to them! :) Hope you enjoy these favorites of mine from the day.

Welcome, Henley Stewart!

Well after 4 1/2 years of them having their hands full with one little boy, they brought home Henley, baby boy number two! Henley came into this world on May 20th, 2013 at 6lbs. 14oz. and 18 inches long! I got to meet him on his 10th day of life! He was not happy with me at all! Needless to say, Henley was not a fan of being in his "birthday suit!" ;) He was such a sweet boy though and had one main focus! He wanted to EAT! :) His mama had her hands full between the two boys that is for certain! She adores both those boys though, and wouldn't trade them for the world. Congrats Anna-Kay and Phil! You two make some precious boys!

Lafayette Lovebirds

When I first started photography I was enrolled in several different courses at BPCC. They started with film, scary, and finally became strictly digital classes. In several of these classes were the same faces. Heather Wilkinson was one of us, a well known wedding and newborn photographer in Shreveport. She became a great friend who's work I really look up to. Also in the class, was another great friend, Armond Gilmore. He and I had so much fun and were probably the opposite of the "teacher's pet!" :) After finishing these classes Armond and I did a great job of staying in touch. He moved down to Lafayette, Louisiana to attend ULL. Little did he know this is where he would meet Lana. Upon graduating from ULL Armond called me and asked if I could take photos of him and Lana. I was thrilled. What better way to spend time with a best friend than doing what you love, while catching up! I took them out to the same bridge Mrs. Susan and I took the dogs to the day before, because I loved it, and had many visions for it! I was so excited about these photos.. Here I will share with you my favorites... but quickly I would like to say thank you so much to Armond. What better of a compliment could I ask for from a fellow photographer than to be asked to take his photo. My answer: Happily.
