Christmas minis day TWO!

After my first day of Christmas minis was rained out I had to reschedule. Getting eight families on the same page for a second day for rescheduled shoot is harder than it sounds! So I did two days! This allowed me to book a total of 18 Christmas minis! Wow!!! I was the busiest beaver you've ever seen before Christmas time when it came to editing! My boyfriend had to have extra patience (Thanks Blake, you're the best!) because I wasn't exactly a treat to be around with being so busy! However, I can't say I would have traded it for a thing. I had 18 very successful sessions and happy families with such precious Christmas cards! So although this blog post is a little late, I still had to share! Hope you all enjoy these beautiful families!

Margaret Rountree Bridals

Margaret was a bride that found me by searching Shreveport/Bossier photographers! I love these kind of stories! Her mom insisted that she have bridal photos taken in her gorgeous wedding dress before she ran off to marry her future hubby in New Orleans. I told her I had a great location, and after describing it to her she agreed it sounded good. We sat there as it rained off and on for two hours during hair and makeup. I prayed, while staring out the window, for it to stop. We shot inside for about 10 minutes then all the sudden clear skies came through! I have never been so grateful! This shoot turned out to be far more amazing than either of us could have imagined. Hair and makeup was done by the talented, Bridgette Giba, once again who I would recommend to everybody!! Thanks Margaret, for choosing me as the photographer to take these very gorgeous bridals!

A Family that has my HEART!

Where oh where to start with this family? I remember back in the day (3-4 years ago) I was working at Dillard's in the fragrance department. It was something different for me since I had worked in the restaurant business for 3 years so I was excited about starting at Dillard's. It wasn't long after starting I realized it wasn't exactly my cup of tea! I met so many cool friends there but I have to say I'm grateful that job didn't work out because this family fell right into my lap because of it. I remember being on break one time calling one of the moms I babysat for telling her how miserable I was and that if she knew of anyone who needed a nanny for the summer to call me. It was a couple days later I got a call from probably the sweetest soul I know to this day, Danielle Reid! She told me all about her little stinkers (at the time), 5 year old Madison, and 3 year old twins, Maci, and Brooks. I was thrilled. I started working for them 5 days a week and would have never guessed that this family would win such a great space in my heart. We played, we swam, we took field trips, drove the golf cart, we had one awesome summer! I tell myself all the time I didn't know how good I had it! I can't believe the twins are 6 now, making Madison 9!? What!! Time seriously flies! The kids started back to school and I babysat some on the weekends just to get my dose of those precious babies. I can't explain how much I miss spending all day with them. They always did/said hilarious things. I still tell some of their stories to this day! Danielle set up just a simple family session for Christmas cards. I was thrilled to get to see them! So we went to this amazing field of yellow and white flowers and got some shots that were just precious! They were the first ones to send me a Christmas card of the family shot on it, and I smiled ear to ear! I am so grateful for that first phone call from Danielle! I know God has a plan for everyone, they were meant to be a part of mine, and I am thankful for just that! LOVE YALL SO MUCH!

Because you're mine, I walk the line

Jared and I went to high school together. So when his new fiancé was getting the wedding planning started he threw out my name as the photographer. I am so grateful for friends like that! Brittany and I chatted back and forth several times via email and they decided to book me as their wedding photographer. My biggest wedding package includes bridals, engagements, and wedding coverage, so you will definitely be seeing more of these two! Brittany and Jared decided they liked a location I shot at previously so we headed that way. I thought they were just my type of couple because they both brought their mama's! I loved that and I love being southern! We shot and shot and got so many great ones! They brought along so many precious props to showcase their personalities, as well as their wedding date, and I loved that. I think they are going to be a perfect couple to work with and I can't wait for more!

The Dowdy Family

Holly was a client who found me on Facebook! She said other friends had used me as their photographer before so she wanted to do some family shots and incorporate LSU! We decided to shoot in a mossy setting, at lake Bistineau. Her little family was so cute and the kids were so funny messing back and forth with one another. I am so glad for clients like these. They are new to me but I know we will work again together in the future, and those are the clients I love the most!

Charlotte is ONE!

I have made good buddies with Char's mom Sarah. She has a few friends who have referred her, (thank you all) so she came to me for pictures! First we took photos of her and her girls, plus her mom and sister jumped in a few. Then more recently we took photos to honor Charlotte who has recently turned one. Charlotte was in a crazy mood the morning we took these so she made all kinds of hilarious faces for my camera! The session was fun though and we got some cute ones that Sarah will have of her baby girl forever!

Someone's Lucky

I have found in life, a great friend is hard to come by. One that remains there for you for years and years. One that can tell you things about your own past that you can't even seem to remember. One that you met in 6th grade and you know they will stand by you your wedding day. I have three of those great friends who have been with me for countless years. People I have built relationships with based on things in common. I am so blessed to have them. What I have come to realize that I'm equally extremely grateful for are relationships I was born into. Friends by blood. Cousins! A cousin is one of the best friends you can have. You grow up with them and you grow old with them. I am also blessed with three very close cousin friends of which I refer to as CUZZYS! A couple blogs back you read about my cuzzy who is the peach of my eye. She is the one who came up with the phrase "cuzzy" or "cuzzy wuzzy" and we have held onto it for years. Now you are going to read about my other cuzzy, Elainea. Elainea is a little younger than me but we have grown closer with age. She inspires me in ways she'll never even know. She moved off to Colorado for college right out of high school, by herself! (Ok, I know a lot of people may do that but to me it's seriously scary and anyone with the guts to take that plunge, I admire.) She met a guy there, Shane, who she has been dating for a few years now. She flys with him to his families place in California, so in a sense she's a world traveler. She doesn't seem to be scared, one bit, of taking life by the horns-- and I wish I had that! She text me one day asking if I would take photos of her and her horse. She got "Lucky" as a birthday present from her parents when she was young. (She probably did a lot of begging.) I couldn't wait. Photographers dream of taking photos of a long haired gal with a horse, because it's bound to be beautiful. So we went out to Lucky's pasture and got what are some of my favorite photos I've taken. I know I may say that a lot but seriously, these are amazing to me. The beauty of the horse and Elainea, and the love between them... It. was. perfection. I am so glad to have Elainea as one of my best cousin friends because I know she will be one for life. She makes me so proud and I am so glad she is my family. Thanks Elainea for letting me take photos that mean so much to you, because it means so much to me! One of the coolest parts of this session to me was that the horse's harness said "someone's lucky" because although they may seem lucky to have that horse, the horse is way more lucky to have them! :) Love you cuz!

Jagar is TWO!

Every year since I started photography I have taken this sweet family's photo on both their children's birthdays. I love a client that is loyal to me, who supports my passion. They are a family who have been there with me from the START! Back when my photos were something I'm not so proud of but they stuck around to see me grow, and grow with me. Looking back, comparing myself to the old me, I am proud. I am proud of my work, and what it has become, the business choices I have made, etc. So I want to thank them for always being with me through it all! This shoot was for Jagar's 2nd birthday! I can not believe how time has flown!! I remember the first time I photographed those BLUE eyes and I have been in love since. Although he hasn't felt the same love back for me on picture day I know he will come around someday! ;) He usually warms up to me after the whole hour long session and then he starts to giggle at my crazy faces! haha! Happy birthday Jagar! You are so loved & so lucky to have the family you do!!
